Monzo Cover Letter
10th August 2019
Dear the Recruitment Team at Monzo Bank,
I am a recent economics graduate, currently working as a Corporate Retreat Host for Amazon Creek. I am keen on the idea of becoming a direct contributor to fuel the firm towards its next growth milestone. I believe the type of experience I will gain at Monzo will be broader, and potentially more valuable, due to the firm’s size and global presence. Monzo’s innovative and first-principle thinking gives me the confidence that this would be an excellent place to dedicate my professional life and to build a successful career.
I am interested in working within the Customer Operations team as it will give me the opportunity to work at the core of Monzo, with it’s strategic, proactive and entrepreneurial nature. While working at Amazon Creek I developed my analytical and creative problem solving skills in a quickly evolving and highly collaborative environment. I recently underwent self assessment, in which I understood that what interests me most is working directly with customers and solving complex problems. Upon further research, I found that a career at Monzo would offer me the type of work I desire and believe that this position would enable me to combine my creative problem solving skills and curiosity for the financial sector in the most optimal way.
I believe my achievements in my academic studies and experience at Amazon Creek show that I am self-motivated and able to manage my time effectively without compromising quality. In such a fast-moving and collaborative environment, interpersonal skills are also extremely important. I have been able to develop these skills by holding many positions of leadership, such as captaining my school, college and university rugby teams, which taught me the value of camaraderie and how to build and maintain relationships, all of which will lead me to success within this position.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my application. I look forward to hearing from you.
