    • Were there any personal / CV-based questions? If yes, what were they?
      They asked me which subject I was most passionate about at university and why


    • Were there any competencies questions? If yes, what were they?
      Yes. They asked the basic questions such as why KPMG, why strategy consulting and why you


    • Were there any technical questions? If yes, what were they?
      Yes. It was mostly brain teaser questions.
      1. Market sizing – How many street lamps were there in Singapore.
      2. Basic calculation – If you travel by plane from Singapore to London or travel from one point of Singapore to the other by cab, which is cheaper on a per km basis
      3. Basic accounting question – e.g what happens when you over estimate depreciation. Which components of the balance sheet and income statement is affected?


    • Any other weird questions we haven’t covered?
      If you are applying for the Singapore office, be prepared to answer certain questions in Mandarin


    • What was the most difficult / unusual question among these? How did you deal with it?
      For market sizing questions it’s all about breaking the problem down into simple steps. They do not really care about your answer. For the street lamp questions, just take an estimate of total sq km of Singapore, how many % of this sq km is made up of roads and finally estimate how many street lamps are there in an average sq km basis.

      To answer a question in Mandarin
