I am writing to express my genuine interest in Ernst and Young’s Financial Services Advisory Consultant Program-Risk (London). I am a postgraduate student at London School of Economics and Political Sciences majoring in Media and Communication. I am expected to graduate in Fall 2015.
Self-motivation and sustained commitment to excelling in both academia and professional skills have been the driving force for my development. The fact that I was the only British Council’s Winner of 2008 Nation-wide debating championship, awarded with an honourable qualification in English debating by the UK’s English Speaking Board (ESB) in 2011, and two-time recipients of UK Mathematics Trust awards, proved that I always put my greatest effort and dedication into achieving the highest results in every challenge that I take on.
My leadership roles in many business and academic projects have enabled me developed an eye for details and a passion for accuracy. The combination of my academic achievements and sustained involvement in extracurricular activities demonstrates that I am a highly driven, strategic, and proactive individual. Through my work experiences at PwC Advisory, HSBC Strategy Consulting, and YouGov Market Research I learnt how to deliver practical and insightful advice that make desirable and real impact on big businesses from the bottom line, including building analytical skill and sensitivity to problems relating socio-economic factors affecting clients’ businesses.
In addition, at YouGov I am responsible for helping to guide clients on their business decisions by giving them insight into their target market, their competitors’ business intelligence, existing products, marketing strategies and customers’ behaviour. One of the major projects I’ve successfully accomplished was to offer intelligence on the viability of engaging with UK wellness food industry. I was in charge of mining and validating a large amount of data to provide insights into emerging trends, market risks, brand positioning and possibilities for product innovation. I also created marketing strategies for price competitive products and services at comparable qualities. This duty required me to source and manage the data of 60 largest UK wellness food companies while having to maintain accuracy and a consistent attention to details in order to not spot information regarding food companies ripe for acquisition and takeover to enable the client grow their business through planned M&A transactions.
I have carefully evaluated my strengths and came to the conclusion that a career in financial services advisory is the most suitable for me. I will bring to EY a sharing attitude; a devotion to team’s targets, as well as a wealth of fresh and creative ideas that can lead to the generation of innovative yet viable solutions and strategies to address clients’ major concerns. I am confident that my qualifications and skillset match what you are looking for in an aspiring employee. I have attached my resume for your reference. Thank you very much for taking the time to consider my application. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your considerations,
