Subject: Internship at Bank Degroof

Dear Mr <Name Redacted>,

Further to <Name>’s advice, I apply for an internship at Bank Degroof.

Bank Degroof is a leading investment bank in the global financial sector for more than 140 years. Highly successful advisory work for its clients’ needs has been essential to Bank Degroof success. This is achieved through a precise knowledge of the global economy, a smart interpretation of the world evolution and in-depth financial research. I would like to get in contact with your expertise that would greatly contribute to my understanding of finance and business.

Since September 2014, I’m currently involved in a joint master program in financial economics at the Université Catholique de Louvain and the University of Geneva. It helps me acquire a good knowledge of finance together with a strong economic intuition. I’m convinced that this training could be valuable for the Bank Degroof. Up to now, I have mainly acquired theoretical knowledge and I would like to make the move from theory to practice. Moreover, a practical experience at Bank Degroof would be very useful for my likely future career in finance.

Since the beginning of my master, I am particularly interested in corporate finance and I will dedicate my master thesis to it. Its provisional title is “Monte Carlo simulations for real options valuation”. For that reason, I would like to join the corporate finance department at Bank Degroof. The next semester, I have only two days of courses a week. I, therefore, could devote the three other days to the internship. It would last three and a half months from February to mid-May.

My motivation, my adaptability and my learning ability seem, to me, essential for an internship. As a result, I would be operational and useful for the company as quickly as possible.

I hope that you could promptly response to my application for a student internship at Bank Degroof. I remain readily available to provide more information if required.

Please accept, Sir, the assurances of my highest considerations.
